Lot no. 1765
Bruno Bruni (born 1935 Gradara) "Amanti". Original title Rare painting by Bruno, who has depicted the motif several times in prints and bronze sculptures since around 1978. The internationally best-known Italian artist studied from 1960-1965 at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg under Georg Gresko and Paul Wunderlich. Since 1967, he has been honoured with numerous awards and presented in many solo exhibitions in Germany and around the world, including London, Milan, Brussels, Amsterdam, Tokyo, New York and Melbourne. The focus of his sculptural and graphic oeuvre is on harmoniously composed female nudes and lovers. The clothed male body in hat and trench coat and the standing female nude lend these depictions of lovers a narrative and mysterious quality. His art also centres on harmoniously composed nudes of slender girls and young women with exaggerated proportions that express lasciviousness, sensuality, naturalness and eroticism as well as the elegance and beauty of the female body. Oil on canvas; l. o. signed; 120 cm x 100 cm. Frame. Provenance: Dissolution of the estate of a private collection. Oil on canvas. Signed.
