BRUNO MUNARI & TULLIO D'ALBISOLA (Milan 1907 - 1998) - (Albisola 1899 - 1971) The Lyrical Watermelon 1934 Litho-tin 19.7x17 cm first edition, printed on 21 metal sheets, with a portrait of Diulgheroff, preface by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and 11 full-page lithographs by Bruno Munari, metal editorial binding with cylinder spine 101 copies of which only 50 in print Edizioni Futuriste di "Poesia", Rome Bibliography Andel, Avant-Garde Page-Design 1900-1950 , p.115 Cammarota, Futurism , 135.2 The Lyrical Watermelon is the second of the two litho-lacs, the Futurist books printed in silkscreen on tin. The first is Parole in libertà futuriste olfattive tattili termiche by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Tullio d'Albisola published in 1932. The term litho tin was coined by the industrialist Vincenzo Nosenzo of Savona, a manufacturer of metal food boxes printed in lithography. The Anguria Lirica - printed in 101 copies, only 50 of which were for sale - is Munari's third publishing work and was exhibited and won an award in Paris at the exhibition of decorative graphics.
