BRUSSELS, on a card by Charles Lebrun "The Offering to Alexander" (Indi Sceptra Coronasque Alexandro Offerunt) Wool and silk tapestry, very beautiful border with knotted flowers and fruit 17th century H. 330 cm - W. 217 cm BL Lined, reduced and signed in the lower braid "B B" (Brussels) then "RORU...". The silk is worn, there is some shrinkage, a few loose relays and repairs. Based on Charles Lebrun's cartoons, woven in Jean Sanspere's workshop and copied in Brussels, Beauvais and Aubusson.
