Condition report : Framed He is one of the most famous Vietnamese painters, particularly known for his depictions of the city of Hanoi.
Initially employed as an illustrator for a newspaper, he was selected at just 20 years of age for an exhibition in Tokyo.
Hanoi from the 50s to the 70s is at the heart of his work. Influenced by the great European painters such as Picasso, Chagall and Matisse, he explored a variety of media, creating nostalgic canvases depicting the beauty but also the misery of his country.
In 1996, the painter was posthumously awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Literature and Art (MLD).
