Bound in the publisher's full red calico cloth, in the publisher's artistic dust jacket by the artist Radim Malat. Very good condition, with slight soiling and small tears at the edges of the dust jacket. The novel was first published in the USSR in the magazine 'Moscow' in 1966-1967 (№ 11 and No. 1, respectively) with numerous censors and editorial cuts. In 1967, in Paris, the YMCA-Press published the first uncensored edition of the novel, and in 1969, in Frankfurt am Main, the novel was published in an unprecedented way: the cuts made during its publication in the magazine 'Moscow' were typed in italics. It should be noted that almost the entire edition of the book was printed in small format on fine paper, in a lined binding, and that only a small part was printed in the usual format, in a hard cover and a supercover, on good quality paper.
