Mazarin desk attributed to André Charles BOULLE (1642-1732)
In blackened pearwood and Boulle-style marquetry in the first part based on brass and red-tinted tortoiseshell in blackened pearwood frames. Decorated with birds à la Bérain. It opens with a front door and two side panels, with convex inner sides, each containing three lockable drawers. It stands on eight sheath-type legs, joined four by four by two X-shaped movement braces. 18th century. Paris Restoration from use and maintenance, later legs and top. Dimensions: H: 81; W: 128; D: 70 cm.
