*BUREAU-PLAT "AUX ESPAGNOLETTES" WITH "PIETRA DURA" INLAY, Régence style, probably by BEFORT JEUNE (active circa 1860/1890), Paris circa 1880. Ebonised pearwood finely inlaid with "Pietra Dura" in the form of flowers and birds. The top inlaid with tulipwood and rosewood in the form of flowers, leaves, cartouches fillets and frieze in the style of A. C. Boulle. The shaped top edged in bronze, the front with 3 drawers and the back with the same but sham arrangement. Decorated with exceptionally rich matte and polished gilt bronze mounts, sabots and applications. 155x84x79 cm. Provenance: from an English collection
