First edition of this collection of poetic prose in homage to the rural and picturesque life of the Valais. It is decorated with lettering, vignettes, endpapers and 10 plates out of text, all wood-engraved from the author's drawings and coloured in a wide variety of tones. This is the first work by Marguerite Burnat-Provins (1872-1952), a French writer who divided her time between poetry and painting. Edition of 562 copies, this one of 550 on grey Montgolfier. Boards slightly oiled.
