BURNISHED TAN POTTERY FIGURAL CONTAINER LID IN THE FORM OF A COATIMUNDI, ECUADOR Ca. AD 300 - 500.
A tan pottery figural lid shaped as a curled coatimundi with incised circular motifs across the back, short forelimbs extending from the torso, and a large, rounded head with incised facial features. The surface is burnished to a soft sheen, and the piece is hollowed beneath, with a shallow inner cavity and raised rim for fitting atop a vessel.
