In-4, title, xviii-588 pp. in red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt framing on the covers, arms in the centre, edges gilt on marble, endpapers in ivory spangled paper (contemporary binding). A few small black spots on the boards.
Unique edition of this work by Richard de Bury (c.1730 ? - c.1794 ?), protégé of the Count of Bernstorf, ambassador of the Danish Court in Paris (hence the dedication of the work). He is more famous for the attacks made on him by Voltaire, Grimm and La Beaumelle than for his own writings.
