BYZANTINE BRONZE CENSER. Ca. AD 500 - 600. A bronze censer with a rounded, deep bowl supported by three evenly spaced, slightly flared legs. The exterior of the bowl is decorated with three series of double horizontal bands encircling the surface. The thick, slightly outward-flaring rim features three evenly distributed, vertical extensions with rounded tops, pointed edges and central perforations.
