BYZANTINE BRONZE CROSS-SHAPED BROOCH Ca. AD 900 - 1000. A bronze cross-shaped brooch with equal arms flaring towards the ends and a circular suspension loop at the top. The upper face is decorated with concentric ring-and-dot motifs arranged symmetrically on each arm and at the centre. The reverse retains the pin mechanism, with the catchplate and spring intact.
