BYZANTINE BRONZE PATENT CROSS Ca. AD 900 - 1100. A bronze cross composed of two separate arms: a shorter horizontal and a longer vertical, joined at the centre by a prominent stud. The vertical arm is pierced with a circular hole at each end. For similar see: The Benaki Museum, Room 4, n. 42. Size: 150mm x 115mm; Weight: 170g Provenance: Private UK collection; previously acquired on the Belgian art market in the 1990s.
