BYZANTINE GILDED BRONZE MILITARY PHALERA WITH EAGLES.
Ca. AD 600 - 800.
A gilded bronze military phalera with a scalloped border, featuring a central raised medallion encircled by a plain rim. The medallion depicts two confronting eagles and the surrounding field is decorated with small incised stars and multiple perforations along the outer edge suggest attachment points.
