BYZANTINE GOLD CROSS PENDANT WITH CENTRAL RED GARNET CABOCHON. Ca. AD 500 - 600. A gold cross pendant with four tapering hollow arms, each terminating in a domed cap with a filigree cluster; the upper arm additionally surmounted by a suspension loop. At the centre, an oval garnet cabochon is mounted in a beaded collet. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1949,1007.8.
