BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD PENDANT SET WITH GLASS INTAGLIO DEPICTING A PEACOCK Ca. AD 300 - 500. An oval glass cameo in layered dark red and white, carved in low relief with a peacock in left profile, its head raised and tail fanned behind, each feather defined with incised lines and concentric circles.
