BYZANTINE LEAD SEAL WITH EAGLE AND MONOGRAM
Ca. AD 600 - 700.
A ircular lead seal from the Byzantine period, featuring on one side a finely rendered eagle with outstretched wings, symbol of imperial authority and vigilance. The reverse bears a compact cruciform monogram, likely indicating the name or office of the seal’s owner.
