BYZANTINE SILVER RING DEPICTING ST. GEORGE KILLING THE DRAGON Ca. AD 500 - 700. A silver ring with a flat circular bezel engraved with a stylised scene of St. George on horseback spearing a dragon. The saint is shown in profile, holding a long spear, with linear detailing used to depict the horse and dragon. The bezel is applied to a rounded hoop of a slender form.
