A partir de 1902, Felix Brosse, le propriétaire de la marque, se lance dans la réalisation de motocyclettes équipées de différents moteurs. On avait pu admirer une Brillant à moteur Météore lors de la fameuse vente Guélon (Rétromobile 2017) mais la machine présentée de la collection Michelin est propulsée par un monocylindre signé Brillant. Alimenté par un carburateur Claudel, ce moteur, qui porte le nom de Brillant sur chacun de ses carters, n'est pas présent dans la littérature. Cette Brillant se caractérise également par une fourche " Lithos-Robuste ", qui valait 40 francs en 1910 (d'après l'ouvrage La Motocyclette en France. 1894-1014 de Bourdache) et n'apportait peut-être pas une amélioration en rapport avec l'investissement. Cette motorisation a priori unique et cette fourche font de cette Brillant une machine française digne du plus grand intérêt des collectionneurs. French title - The charm of "within the frame" - A complete motorbike - Very rare machine to restore - No reserve As early as 1892, Brillant was known as a bicycle manufacturer, based at 22, rue Béranger, in the 3rd district of Paris, and then at 26, rue de la Fontaine-au-Roi, in the 11th district. From 1902, Felix Brosse, the owner of the brand, embarked on the production of motorcycles powered by different engines. A Brillant with a Météore engine had come up for auction at the famous Guélon sale (Rétromobile 2017), but the machine presented from the Michelin collection is powered by a single-cylinder Brillant. Powered by a Claudel carburetor, this engine, which bears the Brillant name on each of its crankcases, is not present in the books. This Brillant is also characterized by a "Lithos-Robuste" fork, which was worth 40 francs in 1910 (according to the book La Motocyclette en France 1894-1014, by Bourdache) and may not have provided an improvement corresponding to the investment.
