CALABAR, Cross River State, Nigeria. Pseudo anthropomorphic terracotta bottle covered with a range of ornaments including geometric motifs and concentric circles. Used for altars or as an offering in hiding places. Presumed to date from the 14th-16th centuries. Height : 30 cm. Chips. Provenance : Collection of a couple of collectors, Blois.
