Neo-Gothic style chalice in vermeil. France late 19th-early 1900s. Marked minerve. The poly-lobed base shows three alternating amethyst-coloured cut stones set in leafy reliefs and three four-lobed medallions in blue and gold enamel bearing the effigies of Jesus, Mary and Joseph. The centre of the shaft features a guard decorated with beautiful chased leaf scrolls and enriched with small ruby cabochons. The upper part is decorated in the same spirit with medallions of religious figures and carved cabochons. The lid is topped with a cross carved and inlaid with ruby-coloured cabochons. Height: 35 cm. Weight: 880 grams.
