THE EGYPT CAMPAIGN (1798-1799) Dromedary pack-saddle from the late 18th - early 19th century With two curved arms and three arches in varnished wood, decorated with chased and engraved wrought iron and brass. The front hoop has a brass-covered pommel. 131 x 36 cm. B.E. (Varnished). This saddle (known as a bât) was used by the dromedary regiment set up by Bonaparte during the Egyptian campaign.
