CANDIDO BIDO (1936-2011) Still life of flowers signed and dated 'Bido 79' (lower left) oil on board 22.5 x 31.3 cm Cándido Bidó Ventura was a Dominican painter known for his vivid depictions of Creole customs, nature, and landscapes. He was the first Dominican painter to exhibit in France. In recognition of his contributions to the arts, the Galería de Arte Cándido Bidó in Bonao, Dominican Republic, was established in his honour.
