DRUM MAJOR'S CANE OF THE 311' REGIMENT OF LINE INFANTRY
Silver-plated pommel decorated on the top with the flaming grenade and marked around the rim with the regiment's name. Fluted body edged with foliage. Hallmarked socket, with two lion's heads holding in their gules the twisted chain running along the rush body.
Silver-plated ferrule with brass and iron tip.

Commentary:
The regiment, which only existed for the duration of the 1st World War, was involved in many battles: Saint Mihiel, Verdun, Argonne.
After a stay at the Mailly camp, the regiment was sent to the Italian front in 1917. It ended the war in Picardy and then in Champagne.
