CANOSAN KRATER WITH RED PAINTING. Ca. 400 - 200 BC. A pottery krater with a tall, rounded body tapering towards a flared pedestal foot. The wide, cylindrical neck leads to a slightly everted rim, from which two large, looping handles extend, each topped with a small volute. Faint traces of red pigment remain on the surface. Size: 230mm x 190mm; Weight: 835g Provenance: Property of a central London gallery, previously acquired on the Dutch art market; previously acquired on the Belgian art market; Hugo Lievens, Brussels 1982.
