Winchester Model 1873 USA lever action rifle, calibre 22 Short. Serial number B421577, corresponding to a 2ᵉ type model and dated 1892. The barrel is fitted with a blade front sight mounted on a dovetail and an elevation-adjustable horn rear sight. The top plate of the barrel is stamped in two lines with the address and date of the patent: "REPEATING ARMS. NEW HAVEN. CONN. USA PATENTED MARCH 29.1866 - OCTOBER 16.1860", and the inscription "22 SHORT" appears in front of the rear sight on the breech. The upper tang, marked "MODEL 1873", has an integral dust rail and a serrated dust cover to the rear. The gun has been completely rebronzed. Walnut stock and handguard, the stock fitted with a solid crescent-shaped buttplate. Functional action. Good overall condition.
