CARDELLI. [DUVAL (Henri)]. Manuel du cuisinier et de la cuisinière à l'usage de la ville et de la campagne. Paris, Roret, 1823. In-18, long-grained red morocco basane, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets (Binding of the period). Second edition of this famous treatise, illustrated with a charming lithographed frontispiece and 3 engraved plates. The first edition was published a year earlier. This manual contains a large number of recipes as well as a treatise on meat dissections, another on how to preserve foodstuffs and a final one on wines. Vicaire does not cite the 1823 edition. Spotting, foxing and stains, small tears with missing parts on pp. 7, 19, 127, tear without missing parts on p. 139. From the library of Pierre de Combrugghe (2023, n°193), with bookplate.
