Bronze, dark patina. Signed; round foundry mark "MARTIN U PLITZING HOFBILDGIESSER BERLIN". Piper studied in Leipzig and from 1878 in Berlin under Albert Wolff and Fritz Schaper, among others. From 1886 to 1911 he exhibited many times at the Berlin Academy exhibitions and the major Berlin art exhibitions. Slightly damaged; h. 28.5 cm.
Dark brown patinated bronze. Signed. Foundry stamp. Minor flaw.
