Auszug aus dem handschriftlichen Gutachten von Dr. Hermann Uhde-Bernay: 'Ein mir heute im Original vorgelegtes Ölgemälde auf Holz, Querformat 33:12 ½ cm groß, ausgezeichnet erhalten, darstellend eine oberbayerische Landschaft mit weitem Ausblick in das durch einen Flußlauf getrennte Ebene (...) ist aufgrund genauster Prüfung und Vergleichung mit ähnlichen Werken des Meisters ein charakteristisches schönes Werk des Münchner Malers Carl Spitzweg.' Auszug aus dem handschriftlichen Gutachten von Eduard Loreck: 'Das mir zur Begutachtung vorgelegte Ölgemälde auf Holz, Querformat 12,5 x 33cm (...) stellt eine oberbayerische Landschaft dar mit breitem Ausblick in eine Flußebene im linken Hintergrund. Im Vordergrund Talhöhenwand mit Baum- u. Buschgruppen, über welchen in Bildmitte ein Landsträßchen aus dem Talgrund hinaufführt. Auf dem Sträßchen hinaufkommend eine Postkutsche (...). Das reizvolle Bild stammt, wie ich aus Vergleichen mit mir gehörigen Bildern des Meisters feststellen kann, unzweifelhaft von der Hand meines Großonkels Carl Spitzweg. Dies bestätige ich unter Berücksichtigung unseres Familiennachlassstempels.' Beide Gutachter wurden von Siegfried Wichmann im Oeuvrekatalog des Künstlers als kritische und zuverlässige Experten für die Werke Spitzwegs genannt. Expertise: Eduard Loreck, München, 23. Excerpt from the handwritten report by Dr. Hermann Uhde-Bernay (translated from German): 'An oil painting on wooden panel that was submitted to me today in the original, landscape format 33:12 ½ cm, in excellent condition, showing an Upper Bavarian landscape with wide view over a plain divided by a river (...) is, due to precise examination and comparison with similar works by the master, a beautiful characteristic work by the Munich painter Carl Spitzweg' Excerpt from the handwritten report by Eduard Loreck (translated from German): 'The oil painting on wooden panel, landscape format 12,5 x 33 cm, presented to me for evaluation (...) shows an Upper Bavarian landscape with wide view over a river plain in the left backround. In the foreground a valley wall with groups of trees and bushes, over which a small country road is leading upwards from the valley bottom. On the road coming up a mail coach (...). The appealing painting derives undoubtedly, as I can determine by comparing it with the master`s paintings in my possession, from the hand of my great uncle Carl Spitzweg. This I confirm in consideration of our family estate stamp'. Both specialists were mentioned by Siegfried Wichmann in the artist`s oeuvre catalogue as serious and reliable experts on the work of Spitzweg. Expertise: Eduard Loreck, Munich, 23.
