Carlo Bugatti, Throne, around 1900, 156.4 x 73.5 x 60.3 cm. Backrest designed as large round disc between minaret-like protruding spine posts, shorter on one side but with round tray, trough-like armrests aspiring to semicircles. Backrest and spine posts connected by cords on both sides. Walnut with inlays of ivory, brass and ebonized wood with stamped and driven brass mounts. Backrest, armrests and seat covered with parchment and painted with japonese style flower motifs.
