Between 1646 and 1661, the brothers Carlo Francesco and Giuseppe Nuvolone collaborated on various pictorial projects. While the model for this Madonna and Child is undeniably Carlo Francesco's1, the dense, sensual execution is Giuseppe's. 1 By way of comparison, the Virgin and Child by Carlo Francesco in the Walters Art Museum in Baltimore (no. 37.463).
