CARRACCI, Augustine (1557-1602)- BRIZIO, Francis (1574-1623). Saint Jerome in Meditation. [c. 1590-1600]. Agostino Carracci's final engraving, left unfinished at his death. According to an attribution already proposed by Malvasia, the work was completed by Francesco Brizio. The latter's hand is recognisable in the more rigid rendering of Saint Jerome's left leg and in the still life at the lower right corner, features typical of Brizio's style.
