Lot no. 400
CARTIER EXCEPTIONAL ART DECO RIBBON BRACELET In platinum, openworked with a series of fleurons with geometric decoration in slight relief, each set off by a round or cushion-cut old-cut diamond weighing between 1 ct and 2 cts approximately in a pavement of rose-cut diamonds. Circa 1925. Signed and numbered. Hallmarked Renault Gustave, then Vve Renault. The workshop worked intensively for Cartier throughout the Art Deco period. In a Cartier red leather case. An exceptional old cut diamond and platinum Art Deco bracelet, by Cartier. Circa 1925. The almost invisible platinum setting is characteristic of the Art Deco period and, more specifically, of Cartier's savoir-faire. The diamonds appear to float, and the play of heightened motifs accentuates the jewel's dimension. Provenance: Private collection, Monaco.
