Lot no. 108
Carved wooden sculpture. Circa 1500.
'Saint Peter'
Interesting sculpture, in spite of its flaws. Saint Peter appears as the first head of the Church, with a papal mitre, richly carved. The fineness and the expression of the face, which still has its original polychrome, is outstanding. The sculpture has great movement due to the abundant clothing which cover the saint, who is seated on his throne and holding the Holy Scriptures in his left arm and hand.
Height: 86 cm.
