Lot no. 1765
Caspar Hirschely (Hirschel) (c. 1697 Prague - 1743 ibid.) Circumference
Magnificent bouquet of flowers
The green, faceted glass vase on a dark wooden table against a neutral background, in which an opulent, colourful bouquet of roses, funnel vines, lilies, columbines, chrysanthemums and primroses has been fragrantly arranged. This finely painted, extremely lively, lifelike floral piece clearly parallels the style and composition of Caspar Hirschely's works. The Bohemian artist was trained by Johann Adalbert Angermayer (1674 - 1740), but in his flower and fruit still lifes, most of which were created around 1730, he orientated himself more towards the Dutch masters of the 17th century such as Balthasar van der Ast (1593 - 1657) or Roelant Savery (1576 - 1639). Oil on canvas, relined. 64 cm x 49 cm. Frame.
Provenance: Dissolution of an important German private collection - Part II.
Circle of Caspar Hirschely (c. 1697 - 1743). Oil on relined canvas.
