German Stahlhelm M1916 helmet with impact. German M16 helmet in feldgrau painted steel, paint still very present, surface rust. Manufactured by Si for Eisenhüttenwerk Silesia. Size 66. One blow adjacent to a through top impact, possibly caused by either shrapnel or a pickaxe blow in order to demilitarise the helmet during or just after the war. Leather headband, original rivets attached, the one on the right is missing. 3 tan leather panels, one with a cut, 1 horsehair pad present, three of the wolf's tooth ends missing. 1915 model chinstrap with iron fittings, oxidation, leather dry and broken. Original leather liner band with missing right rivet, three light-brown pads, one torn, one horsehair pad remaining, several torn liner tabs. Model 1915 chinstrap with iron fittings, oxidized, leather dry and broken. Signs of wear and patina.
