British Brodie Mk I camouflaged helmet. Purely English helmet, marking on shell HS 63. Split tab chinstrap attachments. Black waxed canvas cap with red ink stamp on reverse. Chinstrap missing, remaining part repaired. Rubber ring is present under the felt. The helmet has had its anti-reflective paint applied, and over that a camouflage consisting of 4 large patches of ochre, orange, dark green and black. English or American camouflage, but good for WW1. Helmet worn, with patina.
