During this second ascent of Mont Blanc, Dr Pitschner spent a fortnight at Les Grands Mulets, where he made astronomical observations. He climbed the highest point of the Grands Mulets rocks, which still bears his name today. Pitschner himself published the story of his first ascent of Mont Blanc in 1859 in a book accompanied by a sumptuous atlas that is no longer available. A rare brochure published by the Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix. Also by the same author (under the pseudonym of Stephen d'Arve): Les fastes du Mont Blanc. In-8°, half-bassane binding with corners (period binding) (spotting, corners dull). Geneva, Veresoff, 1876.
