CATON, VARRON, COLUMELLE and PALLADIUS. Libri de re rustica. Florence, Filippo Giunti, July 1515. In-4, stiff vellum, handwritten title on spine, spotted edges (18th century binding). First edition given by the Giuntis of the Libri de re rustica, the four principal agricultural treatises of Latin antiquity, composed by Cato the Elder, Varron, Collumelle and Palladius. Based on the Aldine edition of 1514, it is enriched with comments by Niccolò Angeli and illustrated with geometric figures in the text.
Numerous handwritten marginalia from the period (some partially trimmed). Biographical notes formerly copied in Latin on one endpaper.
From the Raymond Oliver library, with anagrammatic bookplate Rouvier de Vaulgran.
