According to Pierre Gusman, this is one of the most interesting illustrated books of the Romantic period. First edition of the beautiful illustrations by Édouard de Beaumont, including a steel-engraved portrait, 200 vignettes in the text and 6 plates outside the text reproducing the unusual figures from the original edition.
