It is a rare testimony to the artistic relationship between Cécile Hertz-Eyrolles and her master Eugène Carrière, and to the artist's youth. Hertz-Eyrolles trained at the Académie Carrière, which opened in Paris in 1890. As the 2014 exhibition at the eponymous museum explains so well<a href="#_ftn1" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">[1]</a>, this studio was also, and above all, a place open to women artists, which Carrière strove to defend until his death in 1906.
