Caucasian belt, early 20th century. Chased and nielloed silver, velvet and metallic thread embroidery. Length: 75 cm; Gross weight: 113 g. The two-part buckle is in chased silver with plant motifs and crescents, partly nielloed on the contours and reliefs. The inscription Kabkaz ("Caucasus") is also nielloed in the centre. The clasp takes the form of a small kindjal dagger linked to a chain. The silver mounts form poly-lobed mandorles with niello decoration around the edges and chased plant motifs in the centre.
