Lot no. 93
CÉLINE (Louis-Ferdinand). Féerie pour une autre fois II. Normance. Paris, Gallimard, 1954. In-8, paperback, untrimmed. First edition.
One of 155 copies on vellum pur fil Lafuma-Navarre, second paper.
The second part of Féerie pour une autre fois, though written before the first, Normance is a nightmarish account of the Allied bombing of Montmartre in 1944. "According to the publisher, Normance is more of a poem than a novel. It is a kind of lyrical-grotesque ballet, set to music with a breathless, haunting rhythm, which eschews the lulling purr and uses, as dissonances, the detonations of a bombing raid".
Tranches piquées.
