First edition of this prose poem illustrated with twenty-five "tracings of American railways" interspersed in the text. There were 580 copies printed. One of 50 copies on Arches vellum signed by the author (second paper after 4 chines). Unlike the ordinary edition, the first copies on Arches and on chine have not been folded in half widthways. Autograph signed letter from the author to Léopold Zborowski (1889-1932), a Polish poet and art dealer who was close to Modigliani and the artists of Montparnasse: avec Zborowski / sans Zborowski / contre Zborowski / et pour lui aussi / son ami / Blaise Cendrars / 1er mai 1922.
