Ibarra's Don Quixote: the most luxurious edition of Cervantes' novel and one of the masterpieces of Spanish printing. A "magnificent edition in terms of typography and ornamentation" according to Cohen, it features two repeated title-frontispieces, a portrait of Cervantes engraved by Carmona after José del Castillo, a fold-out map and 31 out-of-text figures by Antonio Carnicero, José del Castillo, Bernardo Barranco, José Brunete and other artists. The work is enriched by a life of Cervantes and an analysis of the novel by Vincente de Los Rios. A very fine, fresh copy in attractive contemporary Spanish bindings.
