She came to painting in an unusual way, after hearing a voice in the night telling her to pick up her brushes and paint. When she woke up, Chaïbia complied, painting a body of work whose vitality and balance astonished the critic Pierre Gaudibert and the painters Ahmed Cherkaoui and André Elbaz. Encouraged by her son, the painter Hosseïn Tallal, Chaïbia has built up a body of work whose reputation extends beyond Morocco's borders. Chaïbia's works have been exhibited alongside those of Pablo Picasso, Pierre Alechinsky, Jean Hélion, Jean Arp, Le Douanier Rousseau and Claude Villat. His work "Le cycliste" was used as the cover for a special issue of the magazine "Connaissance des Arts". Her work has been the subject of numerous documentaries on foreign television.
