Our chair, of which several variants are known, originates from a drawing in a collection held by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs entitled "Mobilier de Madame Elisabeth, 1790", comprising sixty-five designs for furniture, objects and hangings, mainly by the ornemaniste Jean-Démosthène Dugourc. The design for our chair is signed by a certain Meunier.
