Lot no. 43
CHAMPSAUR Félicien. [Manuscript]. Killing old people. To enjoy! A nasty and mocking novel (contemporary mores). Paris, 1925; folio manuscript of [1]-97 ff. in a cardboard folder, large handwritten title on the upper cover, all contained in a modern natural wood slipcase, title, author and date gilt on the spine. Autograph manuscript in blue and brown ink signed at the end Félicien Champsaur Nice, 27 April 1925, with numerous modifications and erasures. The novel was published the same year by Ferenczi. A calligraphic title page already shows the publisher's name and address. The manuscript is largely corrected, crossed out and crossed out. The novel was to make a name for itself with its hard-hitting title and its various angles of study: a social novel about the disoriented and greedy youth of the 1920s, a detective story, a philosophical novel, the text remains very relevant today. Joint: Correspondence addressed in a stamped envelope to Félicien Champsaur on 26 June 1927 by an enthusiastic reader (Marcel Travers); two-colour mock-up on coated paper of the first cover of the first edition; 3 sheets of "bon à tirer" with important autograph corrections by Champsaur; long autograph letter signed by Champsaur (2 pages) in reply to Jean Béraud who "takes me to task" on the subject of Tuer les Vieux. Very handsome oakwood (?) slipcase, elegantly designed but not signed.
