CHAR (René). L'Escalier de Flore. Alès, PAB, 1958. In-folio, leaves, filled cover with a "window" cut out on the front cover on which three red and three black wires cross forming a saltire. First edition with 2 original engravings on celluloid by Pablo Picasso, the first full-page in two colours, the second in black, signed in red pencil by the artist. The cover was designed by PAB and perfected by Picasso. Edition of 40 copies on auvergne "à la main", this one numbered 36/36 and signed by PAB. "The large two-colour etching of the Escalier de Flore is the most surprising, well created out of nothing, with almost nothing." (PAB). Copy enriched with an additional state of the first full-page etching.
