Lot no. 327
Charles CATTEAU (1880-1966). A rare prototype vase in Boch Keramis stoneware in the 1168 shape, which is not very common and on which the octopus decoration is usually found. A blend of plant and animal, the motif created here is reminiscent of an underwater atmosphere, a strange compromise between seaweed and squid. This vase bears the trial number E.2460 and the handwritten signature of Charles Catteau. This model is not illustrated in Marc Pairon's book, but the decoration number is mentioned in the section on the inventory of decorations on page 713. A unique and extremely rare piece on the market. Perfect quality of workmanship. Height: 24 cm. Resale rights applicable.
